WASHINGTON — An E. coli outbreak possibly linked to tainted lettuce has sickened at least 19 people in Ohio, New York and Michigan, including students on three college campuses, prompting a recall throughout much of the country. Freshway Foods of Sidney, Ohio, said it was recalling romaine lettuce sold under the Freshway and Imperial Sysco brands in 23 states and the District of Columbia because of a possible link to E. coli.

We do not need another disaster of any means, whether it is oil or gas. Please read the excerpts of this report and get involved. Contact your local senator, assemblyman and or congressman. Tell them to oppose this project and learn from the recent gulf coast explosion. Donot allow this to happen to our shores.

Owner-chef Edward Sylvia has opened a transformed former Quiznos space at 132 East 56th Street (between Lexington and Park Avenues) into New York City’s first green pizza parlor. Pizza by Certé is now open for business and offers locally-sourced ingredients, recyclable boxes, biodegradable utensils, and even thyme and basil grown within the 1200-square-foot restaurant itself.
